Note: The Jets looked like they were going to get back on track against the Penguins in Pittsburgh on Saturday but ultimately they couldn’t hold a lead in the 3rd and fell in the shootout. No rest for them however as they are right back in action with a morning game against the Rangers in New York. Stay tuned for the pre-game report to ensure you’re up-to-date on the latest. Puck drop is at 11 AM CT.
Note II: This afternoon, after the final buzzer sounds between Winnipeg and New York, we want you to be part of the conversation on the Illegal Curve Post-Game Show as we discuss and analyze the results of the game starting around 1:40 PM CT.
Note III: The Moose got loose with a matinee game of their own on Saturday as they played host to the Roadrunners for the first time in nine years. Things got off to a rocking start with an absolutely massive tilt between Tyrel Bauer and and Montana Onyebuchi (who is a Manitoban). It was also the AHL debut for Jets prospect Alfons Freij (2024 2nd). Tucson was the better team in the final 40 minutes which led them to a 4-3 win over Manitoba. We did learn post-game from Freij a funny story about his dad running home from his beer league game in Sweden to watch his son’s first AHL game and we also learned why he chose number 23 to wear. The Moose are off today.
Note IV: Over in the OHL a pair of Jets prospects showed up on the scoresheet. It began with Kevin He (2024 4th) who had 2G 1A for Flint while Jacob Cloutier (2025 7th) finished with 1G 1A for Saginaw. Heading west to the WHL, Manitoban Owen Martin (2025 3rd) had 1G in a Spokane win. Lastly, in the NCAA it was a big night for Garrett Brown (2022 4th) as his two assists (including on the OT GWG) helped propel Denver University to the Frozen Faceoff Championship.
