The Jets practiced on Monday as they continued to prepare for three games away from Winnipeg to kick off the post-Olympic break portion of the schedule. It would appear that they will be doing that without Josh Morrissey for a bit of time as per Darren Dreger although all head coach Scott Arniel would only commit to advising that his top pairing defender will miss their game on Wednesday.
The team recalled goalie prospect Domenic DiVincentiis from the Moose as he will backup Eric Comrie with the team not planning on playing Connor Hellebuyck after he led the United States to gold.
Recall news:
The Jets announced that they had recalled Kale Clague from the Moose.
IR skate:
Only Colin Miller participated.
Skate news:
Haydn Fleury had changed his yellow, non-contact for a regular jersey today. No Neal Pionk this morning which would seem to confirm my theory. One player who took part was Kyle Connor which isn’t a huge surprise given he wasn’t a player for the United States the last three or four games of the Olympics.
Lines & D Pairs:
Connor-Scheifele-Vilardi
Perfetti-Lowry-Iafallo
Niederreiter-Toews-Namestnikov
Koepke-Barron-Nyquist
Pearson & Duehr
Stanley-DeMelo
Samberg-Salomonsson
Heinola-Schenn
Fleury-Clague
Miller (non-contact)
Injury update:
After skate head coach Scott Arniel indicated that Nino Niederreiter and Neal Pionk are both week-to-week. It’s interesting as the Swiss Olympian took part in practice but clearly that was just to see if whatever was nagging him was still there. Curious decision given this result that he played in the Olympics.
