Costly OT breakdown by Manitoba Moose allows Iowa Wild to come back and win in extra time

Recap of the game.

The Moose kicked off this four-game homestand last weekend taking three of four points from the Wranglers but knew they needed to have a better effort this weekend against their division rival Wild who currently sit last in the Central.

Lineup news:

With four players still up with the Jets it meant guys who had been sitting like Dylan Anhorn, Dawson Barteaux, Fabian Wagner got back in.

Moose lineup:

Shaw – Gustafsson- Chibrikov
JAD – Zhilkin – Fagemo
Lambert – Ford – Di Giuseppe
Barlow– Yager – Wagner

Sautner – Bauer
Phillips – Barteaux
Anhorn – Clague

Milic

Notable:

Trailing by a goal, the Moose PK came up big in the 1st period as Isaak Phillips tied the game with his fourth goal of the season. Nice pass by Jets prospect Danny Zhilkin who made the deft move in the Manitoba end.

A shade past two minutes after setting up the game tying goal, Jets prospect Danny Zhilkin makes a heck of a play to score his 10th goal of season. First time he’s reached double digits in goals.

End of a shift for the Moose in the 3rd as Isaak Phillips had nothing left which allowed Tyler Pitlick gets around him and goes 5-hole on Thomas Milic to tie the game.

A miscue in OT allows Winnipegger Carson Lambos to win it for the Wild as he helps his club to defeat the Moose 3-2 in extra time. Not a great look on how to play a 2 on 1 by Manitoba.

The home team continues to struggle as they have yet to win a game in OT this season. They have points in three straight games and they got one point closer to the Stars in 3rd place (with four games in hand).

Multi-point game:

Danny Zhilkin 1G 1A
Jaret Anderson-Dolan 2A
