A daily roundup of Winnipeg Jets, Manitoba Moose coverage — all the pro hockey news that matters in Manitoba and beyond.

Note: The Jets skated in Fort Lauderdale on Friday where it looks like they’ve made a tweak or two to the lines and it appears Gustav Nyquist will return to the lineup. No morning skate for Winnipeg with it being an afternoon game but stay tuned for the pre-game report to ensure you’re up-to-date on the latest. Puck drop is at 3 PM CST.

Note II: This evening, after the final buzzer sounds between Winnipeg and Florida, we want you to be part of the conversation on the Illegal Curve Post-Game Show as we discuss and analyze the results of the game starting around 5:40 PM CST.

Note III: The Moose kick off the first of two matinees this weekend here in Winnipeg. They will take on the IceHogs this afternoon at 2 PM CST.

Note IV: Last night in the OHL, prospect Kevin He (2024 4th) scored his 20th goal of the season.

Note V:  Join us for two hours of hockey talk on the Illegal Curve Hockey Show as we discuss all the latest and get you ready for the game this afternoon.

Jets news:

Winnipeg Free Press: Jets’ forward struggling to break out of points slump. (Paywall). At the start of the year he appeared poised to have a career season but he, like many on the team, went on a very long and extended cold streak.

Winnipeg Sun: Salomonsson nearly an ‘everyday’ NHL player says Samberg. While you never want to see guys get injured it has created the opportunity for Salomonsson to become an everyday guy for Winnipeg.

Global News: Jets offer up more of the same old, same old. John reacts to another Jets loss and looks at the questions which surround the core group.

Grand Forks Herald: Tucker Poolman learning to live with rare autoimmune disease that ended his NHL career. I think Jets fans will find this to be an interesting read from Brad on Tucker Poolman and the medical issue that ended his NHL career.

Jets prospect news:

Official Winnipeg site: Kieron Walton prospect report. The 2024 6th rounder has been absolutely lighting it up in the OHL this season. Jamie caught up with the big man.
