I always knew there were a lot of Derek Meech and Darren Helm fans here in Manitoba but they are out in full strength with all the Wings jerseys in the crowd.
Tonight is the 600th NHL game for Connor Hellebuyck. He was recognized during the TV timeout. And ever the good tandem partner it was Eric Comrie who let him know he was being honoured.
Cole Koepke took a shot and then delivers a shot to give the Jets a 1-0 lead. Big Stan picked up another assist. That’s 11 of last 12 games the Jets have opened the scoring in a game. And hey it’s a 5 on 5 goal.
A member of the CCM line has scored but if you’re a Jets fan it wasn’t the one you wanted to see. For the Wings fans they’ll be happy as JT Compher tied the game.
And then the bottom fell out as the Wings scored four more goals in the final frame to win the game.
