Winnipeg Jets Practice Report

Jets will hit the ice for practice before heading to Minnesota to take on the wild.

The Jets have gone streaking as they won their third straight game last night defeating the Islanders in a wacky 5-4 game which saw the teams combine for seven goals in the middle frame. The improved second line continues to be a big contributor which is a big reason that Winnipeg has started to win games again.

We didn’t get much insight from head coach Scott Arniel when it comes to the health of Colin Miller and Haydn Fleury other than they are considered day-to-day (although with Fleury it seemed like Arniel was reluctant to agree with that assessment saying “he hasn’t even touched the ice”). There also hasn’t been much clarity when it comes to Morgan Barron who has been sporting a yellow, non-contact jersey since returning to the ice last Saturday. His last game was against the Oilers on the 8th.

Skate news:

A few guys missing today from practice including Josh Morrissey, Neal Pionk, Mark Scheifele and Jonathan Toews.  Morgan Barron in a regular jersey.

Health news:

Some big news today from Jets head coach Scott Arniel who amended his timeline on Fleury and Miller and provided a new one on Neal Pionk who he indicated wasn’t feeling right after the game yesterday. The trio of D men are all listed now as week-to-week. He also said Morgan Barron could be a player tomorrow but he isn’t yet cleared.

Recalled:

Top Jets D prospect Elias Salomonsson will get the call back up from the Moose.
