Winnipeg Jets head coach Scott Arniel with latest on Colin Miller & Haydn Fleury

An update on the pair of injured Dmen.

The Jets backend has been hit with a couple of injuries the last few games.

Last Thursday, we saw Haydn Fleury slide hard into the boards which broke his nose and left him with a number of other injuries. On Sunday, another hard slide into the boards by Colin Miller left the right side defender unable to continue in the hockey game.

Both players have been placed on IR.

Today, following morning skate Jets head coach Scott Arniel provided health updates on the two D men.

On Miller:

“We’re just gonna go, we’re day-to-day here. Obviously he’s not available for the next three games but we’ll just kinda see where we are. He’s got to get some feel by the end of the week to see what he needs to do and what more needs to be done.”

On Fleury when asked if he was in the day-to-day category he said:

“Yeah, he hasn’t even touched the ice. That’s still the next step for him.”

No real clarity from the bench boss on either player but that’s the latest on those two. Basically you won’t see either player for the next little while.

Fleury was placed on IR on the 7th while Miller went on IR on the 12th. While Fleury would be eligible to return soon it doesn’t sound like that is very likely and we know Miller will miss at least the next three games before he is eligible to return.
