Haydn Fleury’s final shift in the Jets’ 5–3 win over the Canucks lasted 1:15 early in the second period. He left for the dressing room afterward and did not return.

During the broadcast, it was speculated that Fleury may have been injured late in that shift after colliding awkwardly with Brock Boeser on a hit attempt.
However, head coach Scott Arniel dismissed that theory postgame. When asked if the injury occurred on the Boeser hit, Arniel shook his head.
“No. It’s upper body,” he said. “You’re getting closer. But it’s upper body.”
Upon reviewing the play (see below), it appears the injury may have actually occurred about 15 seconds earlier, when Kiefer Sherwood caught Fleury with a shot to the head.
The Jets are off today so we shall have to wait until tomorrow for an update on his status as they get ready to face the Kraken in Seattle.
Replay:
Haydn Fleury left game in 2nd with upper-body injury. Speculation was it happened when he went to hit Boeser at end of shift.
Head coach Scott Arniel indicated it was not on that play.
I think it happened with a shot to head he took 15 seconds earlier.https://t.co/Bp7piR5yxx pic.twitter.com/n3QAsRBUZU
