The Canucks made it interesting but the Jets pick up an important win as they take it 5-3 in Vancouver with the power play getting back on track.

Notable:
Alex Iafallo played in his 600th NHL game.
The Jets got things started with Jonathan Toews getting his third goal of the season around the five minute mark of the opening period. First point of the season for Cole Perfetti in his second game.
With his assist on this goal Josh Morrissey moves into sole possession of 4th on the All-Time Jets/Thrashers franchise for assists moving past Bryan Little. He’s been alone in 4th on the Jets 2.0 list since he passed Nikolaj Ehlers ten assists earlier.
Then the Canucks struck for two goals in under two minutes to take a 2-1 lead. The second goal was on the power play but the first goal it was clear that Luke Schenn looked totally lost and it was also clear as day that it was gonna end up in the back of the Jets net.
Jets get the benefit of two bounces before Josh Morrissey ties the game with his third goal of the season. He takes the goal scoring lead for Jets D.
Nino Niederrieter in the right place at the right time to give the Jets a 3-2 lead. Wild 1st period in Vancouver. Assists to Adam Lowry (first point of the season) and Alex Iafallo (600th NHL game).
The Canucks would start the 2nd period without goalie Thatcher Demko while the Jets would lose Haydn Fleury who played one shift for 1:15.
From a 0/14 drought on the PP to getting two this evening including this filthy backhand by Gabriel Vilardi is just what this Jets team needed on special teams. That’s Vilardi’s 6th goal of the season.
The Canucks made it a one goal game after an extended 6 on 5 with 1:30 left in the game.
With the win Winnipeg improves to 10-6-0 on the season as they earn an important two points.
Multi Point Game:
Josh Morrissey 1G 2A
