The last shift of the game for Gustav Nyquist was approximately 27 seconds around the eight minute mark of the 1st period before he went to the bench. Nothing of note happened and it wasn’t until he was on the bench talking to the training staff that we really took note of anything.

Didn’t see what happened but the walk to the room didn’t look good. pic.twitter.com/9vpthoHKKm

He would head to the room and did not return. The team ruled him out for the rest of the game after the 1st intermission. Following the conclusion of the game head coach Scott Arniel was asked for an update. He didn’t have much aside from indicating that Nyquist tweaked something and would be evaluated further.
Upon reviewing the video from the game nothing really happened in what is available via TSN but it’s clear he was bothered as you can see him leaving the ice rather slowly.
Went back and watched Gustav Nyquist’s final shift.
Nothing readily apparent as to what caused him to leave game but clear that something got tweaked as head coach Scott Arniel indicated post-game.
Should get an update after practice today.

Following today’s practice Arniel was asked for an update and he didn’t have much of one other than to rule him out for tomorrow’s game against the Pens. He said there is no timeline on him yet and there could be an update after the game tomorrow afternoon.
Nyquist had zero goals and five assists in his 11 games for the Jets.
