Note: The Jets were off on Wednesday, so you’d think it would be a quiet day. Maybe during the regular season, but not so during training camp. For the third straight day, it was a busy news day in Jetsland. It began with the news that Tyrel Bauer and Isaak Phillips had cleared waivers. Shortly thereafter three players (Jaret Anderson-Dolan, Samuel Fagemo and Kale Clague) were placed on waivers. However the NHL club of Winnipeg wasn’t finished there as they also loaned four prospects (Brayden Yager, Colby Barlow, Elias Salomonsson & Thomas Milic) to the Moose which brought their training camp roster down to 28 (since Lowry & Samberg are injured) players. We also unexpectedly got a Jonathan Toews update as head coach Scott Arniel was on the NHL Network and indicated the future Hall of Famer is considered day-t0-day (he was also listed on today’s practice group).
Note II: While the Jets may have been off yesterday the Moose were not and we bring you all the latest on the AHL club of Manitoba.
Jets news:
The Athletic Winnipeg: How much did Kyle Connor’s next contract just jump? (Paywall). Not a surprise that in part deux of Murat’s mailbag he received many questions about number 81.
Global News: Kyle Connor likely to see big payday with contract extension. I joked that Connor’s agent would be doing the Connor McGregor strut after seeing that Kirill Kaprizov contract. While the talented winger won’t get to the 17 million mark you have to think that contract might have increased his number.

Winnipeg Free Press: Twists and turns for Jets as roster deadline looms. (Paywall). We are getting closer and closer to a final roster (although injuries will allow the Jets to punt some tough decisions for at least a month).
Winnipeg Sun: Jets trim their roster by 7 players on Wednesday. Not many moves left to make as camp gets ready to conclude.
