Note: It was an incredibly busy first day of Jets training camp in Winnipeg on Thursday. We heard from Mark Scheifele (watch here), Kyle Connor (watch here), head coach Scott Arniel (watch here) and GM Kevin Cheveldayoff (watch here). It was an informative day which saw Kyle Connor and GMKC stickhandle past any questions about a potential contract extension, had Mark Scheifele begin his media avail by thanking the hockey community for their support and so much more. We also learned that prospect Kieron Walton is in concussion protocol after being on the receiving end of a big hit last Saturday at the Prospect Showdown. Winnipeg Sun: Jets winger Kyle Connor quiet on contract talk. While Connor wasn’t saying much to us yesterday during his media availability, TSN’s insider Darren Dreger on his Ray & Dregs podcast said the number likely begins at 12 million for the contract.
