Note: The Jets were busy on Wednesday as they hit the ice for practice as they prepared for today’s game against the Kraken. While he won’t be a player tonight Colin Miller ditched the non-contact jersey for a regular one as he inches closer to full health. Morning skate gets underway at 10:30 AM CST so stay tuned for the pre-game report to ensure you’re up-to-date on the latest. Puck drop is at 7 PM CST.
Note II: This evening, after the final buzzer sounds between Winnipeg and Seattle, we want you to be part of the conversation on the Illegal Curve Post-Game Show as we discuss and analyze the results of the game starting around 9:40 PM CST.
Note III: The Moose had an unexpectedly busy day which was unusual given they held an optional practice. Shortly after skate we learned that Jets prospect Dmitry Kuzmin (2021 3rd) had been dealt to the Blackhawks for fellow left side defenceman Isaak Phillips who has 56 NHL games under his belt. And because the blueline for the NHL club of Winnipeg is getting healthier the team also got back via loan Dylan Coghlan to augment their group on the backend. They are scheduled to practice for the third straight day at hockey for all centre as they prepare to face the Marlies tomorrow night.
Jets news:
Winnipeg Sun: ‘Recession-proof’ Jets power play has opponents green with envy. Always find it interesting to get the thoughts of the assistant coaches who share their philosophy for the special team they are in charge of.
Sportsnet: Jets’ Kyle Connor offers more than just scoring in dominant win over Canucks. You can see it in his disposition as Jacob writes in his article. Like Connor Hellebuyck, Mark Scheifele the focus is squarely on the team winning the ultimate prize and in order for them to accomplish that he will need to continue to play the way he has been this season.
Global News: Recently married and soon to be a dad, Jets’ Connor enjoying life on and off the ice. Interesting insight from Judy who caught up with number 81 to get some colour about the winger.
Global News: Is Jets’ roster upgrade already in the dressing room? Would certainly reduce the cost if you’re looking for a 3C instead of a 2C but I suspect they go big game hunting for a second line centre.
Jets video:
TSN: What should Jets do at NHL trade deadline? The Jets crushed the Canucks for their third win in four games and are pulling away in the Central. What should Kevin Cheveldayoff look for at the trade deadline? That’s Hockey weighs in.
Jets prospect news:
Daily Faceoff: Kieron Walton is one of the most improved NHL prospects in 2024-25. That won’t come as a surprise to folks who have paid attention to this website as we’ve chronicled in the notes the growth in his game. But Steven Ellis knows prospects so it’s good to get his insight.
