Three members of the Winnipeg Jets named to their respective countries 4 Nations Face Off teams

When the NHL gets paused in February these three Jets will be battling for the 4 Nations Cup.

While the 4 Nations Face Off doesn’t exactly get the blood flowing the same way the Olympics do this event is seen as a precursor to the Winter Olympics and many of the athletes getting a chance to represent their country in this event hope that they will be similarly wearing that same uniform when the real games get underway in February of 2026 in Italy.

For now this will be our first chance to see a best on best tournament since the 2016 World Cup of Hockey. Crazy to think it’s been nine years since that event and 11 years since Canada defeated Sweden at the 2014 Olympics in Sochi, Russia.

Team USA:

It was a foregone conclusion that the Jets would have at least one participant as two-time Vezina winner Connor Hellebuyck from Commerce, Michigan was always going to be one of the three goalies for the Americans. He’ll be joined by sniper Kyle Connor of Shelby Township, Michigan.

Team Canada:

As far as Team Canada goes there were a number of Jets players who were projected to be on the team but one player who was written in ink not pencil was top pairing defenceman Josh Morrissey from Calgary, Alberta.

Both Mark Scheifele (Kitchener, Ontario) and captain Adam Lowry (Calgary, Alberta) were seen as potential players but were ultimately left off the team. The Tournament will take place in Boston and Montreal between February 12th and 20th.
