post-game recap

Toughest road trip of season ends with Stars defeating Winnipeg Jets 3-1 as slide hits 3-6-0

Recap of the game.

The road trip to end all road trips (which is still kinda ongoing after the one game back in Winnipeg) finally concludes with a 3-1 loss to the Stars. Jets go 2-4-0 on it and lose three straight for the first time this season. They are 3-6-0 in their last nine games.

Notable:

Adam Lowry opened the scoring which was his sixth goal in 25 games for the Jets which is a 20 goal pace. Last season he had 12 in 81 games. We often talk about needing scoring for top nine and Winnipeg is getting that from their third line.

On the first Jets goal that was Neal Pionk‘s 200th NHL assist.

Also on the goal it meant one captain passes another as it was Adam Lowry 111th of his career which moved him into sole possession of 7th on the All-Time goals list ahead of former captain Andrew Ladd.

The Jets penalty kill was excellent throughout this game killing five penalties and not allowing a shot on at least two of them.

Goalie Connor Hellebuyck was absolutely sensational in this game but with 7:37 left in the 3rd period Mason Marchment was able to get body position on Josh Morrissey, turn and backhand the puck upstairs on 37 to make it a 2-1 game.

Roope Hintz finished the game off with 7.5 seconds left in the 3rd into the empty net.

Multipoint Game:

None.
