Note: The Jets folks are continuing to make history each and every single night they play a hockey game as they kicked off their three-game road trip with a big 6-3 win over the Rangers in NYC. The big guns led the way in the victory with Mark Scheifele (2G), Kyle Connor (2G) and Gabriel Vilardi (1G) all getting on the scoreboard. They made history with the win becoming first team to 15 wins in 16 games. To put it into perspective in the previous 13 seasons in Jets history the fastest they’d gotten to 15 wins was 23 games (2022-23) and the longest it took was 35 games (2013-14). They also continue to lead the NHL in a number of categories, some of which are downright ridiculous. They are off today as they travel to Florida where they will take on the Lightning on Thursday.
Note II: There was some non-game related news as we learned that defenceman Logan Stanley is dealing with mid-body injury and isn’t on the road trip. The team also put in a waiver claim on goalie Kaapo Kahkonen who was thereafter assigned to the Moose.
Note III: Speaking of the AHL affiliate of Manitoba they are in action this morning in Milwaukee where they will take on the Admirals in a school day game. Puck drop is at 10:30 AM CST.
