Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Keeping you up-to-date with all the latest pro hockey news in Manitoba.

Note: The Jets figured why not make it eight as they concluded their three-game road trip yesterday in Calgary with a 5-3 win over the Flames which improved them to 8-0-0. The special teams were impressive once again although there were some areas of concern on Saturday night. The best part of the game may have been Rasmus Andersson’s death stare vs a Jets fan. The team are off today.

Note II: The Moose were playing in their home opener on Saturday afternoon. They got off to a very good start with Jets goalie prospect Thomas Milic making some high-danger saves and getting a pair of goals from C.J. Suess (here) and Mason Shaw (here) which allowed them to take a 2-0 lead into the 1st intermission. Playing in just his second game of the season prospect Chaz Lucius showed off some of the flash he possess. Unfortunately for the home team the next period and a half went in favour of the visitors who scored five straight to take a 5-2 lead late into the game before Manitoba got back on the board courtesy of a PP goal that saw a trio of Jets prospect connect. Re-match this afternoon at 2 PM CDT.

Note III: A number of Jets prospects were in action on Saturday night but the one that had the biggest impact was 2023 1st rounder Brayden Yager who finished with one goal and two assists (along with eight shots) for Moose Jaw and one thing is evident that this kid is very good at making a first pass.
