Notable:

From his first game on October 22nd, 2011 to today make it 800 NHL regular season games for Jets first ever draft pick Mark Scheifele. He was also honoured by the Jets for scoring 300 goals which he hit last game.

Don’t often see the last few seconds of a period goalie pull actually work but that’s just what we saw at the end of the first period as Adam Lowry won the faceoff and got the puck to Mark Scheifele who scored his fourth of the season with 1.7 seconds left to tie the game.

Best chance in the middle frame came for the captain as Adam Lowry puts this on net but Wild goalie Filip Gustavsson made a great stop.

After killing off a late penalty to Rasmus Kupari the Jets struck on the power play in OT as Kyle Connor gets his 53rd game-winning goal for the Jets. He’s got four more than the next closest player (Mark Scheifele) and he did so having played 266 fewer games than 55.

It’s early (obviously) but Winnipeg Jets special teams through 3 games:

PP: 42.9% (Tied for 1st overall)
PK: 100% (Tied for 1st overall)

Not too shabby a start given the state of the special teams last season.

Multipoint Game:

Mark Scheifele 1G 1A
