Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Keeping you up-to-date with all the latest pro hockey news in Manitoba.

Note: Do you want to go to the Jets home opener against the Blackhawks on Friday? We’ve got four tickets in the lower bowl we are giving away in conjunction with our friends at PlayNow. All you have to do is to go to either our Instagram (click here) or Facebook (click here) or both and ensure you’re following us on social media, answer the skill testing question (Hint: it’s true) and you’ll be entered to win. Today is the last day so be sure you’ve entered before 12 noon CT with the winner being announced at 3 PM CT.

Note II: The Jets were off on Sunday as they did some team bonding although they did make one move putting Jaret Anderson-Dolan on waivers. That got them down to 28 skates but they need to be at 23 by 4 PM CT. We expect them to place Ville Heinola and Logan Stanley on IR which gets them to 26. Lots of speculation/prognostication as to how they reach 23 which we will find out the answer to in a few hours so stay tuned to find out. They will also be practicing today at 11 AM CT which we will have covered. Be sure you’re subscribed to our YouTube channel to get all the interviews.

Note III: The Moose skated on Sunday morning which was followed by their second round of training camp cuts as they sent seven players to their ECHL affiliate in Norfolk. They are off today.

Note IV: One Jets prospect had a MONSTER night in the OHL on Sunday as Kevin He exploded for three goals and three assists as his Niagara IceDogs won big. And while his goals were all really nice I think his assist that set up the game-winning goal was one that will leave Winnipeg fans most excited.
