Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Keeping you up-to-date with all the latest pro hockey news in Manitoba.

Day 4 interview: In case you missed anything from Sunday we heard from right-shot defenceman Simon Lundmark (watch here).

Note: The fourth day of training camp was similar to day 3 as it was a bit chaotic given it was a gameday although we did cover practice group 1 and practice group 2. The game group didn’t skate but instead took off for Edmonton where they took on the Oilers. They were up 1-0 early in the game courtesy of a David Gustaffson tip just 17 seconds into the game (see here) and then needed a Dominic Toninato ripper (see here) to tie it late in the 3rd before they fell in OT (see here). Today is an off day.

Note II: The Cole Perfetti situation continues to loom as we await to see which side blinks first in this game of chicken.

Jets news:

Winnipeg Sun: Jets drop sluggish preseason tilt to Oilers in overtime. Scott gives you the 411 from last night’s exhibition game in Edmonton.

Winnipeg Free Press: Armed with booming shot, Colin Miller quietly bided his time. (Paywall). Could turn into a sneaky good signing for Winnipeg.

Illegal Curve Hockey Show: Saturday PodcastOn the show this past weekend which we did live at hockey for all centre during Fan Fest we spoke about the unfortunate news about Ville Heinola, the stalemate between the Jets and Cole Perfetti, Kappo Kahkonen vs Eric Comrie as backup, battle for 13th forward spot, young prospects who are looking to make impression at training camp.
