“Andre is a player with a Stanley Cup championship, who provides us with a dimension that is still important in the league,” said Sutter in a press release. “It was our goal to replace that aspect on our team and we felt it was better to do it now than to trade for it as we go into camp.”

Sutter makes a good point, in that, he would rather sign an enforcer prior to camp rather than trade an asset for one during the season.
