In the game against the Penguins on Tuesday in the 2nd period Brenden Dillon was assessed a match penalty for his hit against Noel Acciari which caught the Pittsburgh forward in the head. He was given a phone hearing by Player Safety on Wednesday which meant any suspension could not exceed five games.
They’ve ruled it was worthy of a three game suspension.
This is the second time in his career he has been suspended. The first time he was suspended for one game back on December 5th, 2017 when he was with the Sharks.
Here is a link to the explanation video from Player Safety.
He will miss tomorrow’s game against the Flyers, Saturday’s re-match with the Penguins and Wednesday’s game against the Sharks.
Do you think it was a fair ruling? Sound off here.
