post-game recap

Winnipeg Jets set all sorts of records as they stage late comeback to defeat the Chicago Blackhawks 2-1

Recap of the game

The Jets run continues as they defeat the Hawks 2-1 to improve to 28-9-4 on the season. It has been over two months since the Jets gave up more than three goals. The streak is currently 31 games.

They’ve also hit eight straight wins (new franchise record), a 14 game points streak (12-0-2)(also a record) and will finish the night in top spot in the NHL.  That is the best streak for an Winnipeg based NHL franchise as the old Jets 1.0 had a 13 game points streak (10-0-3) in 1984-85.

Notable:

The Jets lost Mark Scheifele early in the 2nd.

Worth noting that Saxophone Squirtle (with Benny) made an appearance and the Jets turned things around.

For most of this game this was going to be about a Hawks win but the Jets comeback late to tie it and then win it.

Good work by Josh Morrissey to Adam Lowry who got it to Gabriel Vilardi who tied it 1-1 with 3:29 left in the 3rd and then Nikolaj Ehlers ended it with 1:05 left in the period to give Winnipeg the win.

Multipoint Game:

Adam Lowry 2A
