Winnipeg Jets power play comes alive in 5-2 win over the St. Louis Blues

Recap of the game.

Jets put some distance between themselves and the Blues with their 5-2 win in St. Louis to conclude their three-game road trip with a 2-1-0 record. They improve to 6-4-2 on the season and tie the Avs for 2nd spot in Central with 14 points (although Colorado has played two fewer games).

Notable:

Connor Hellebuyck matched Mathieu Perreault for top 10 in games played for the Jets with 455.

After going on a significant drought the Jets power play came alive going 2/2 to start the contest and ultimately went 2/3.

Given what Neal Pionk has been feeling with the loss of his good friend Adam Johnson you have to imagine there were a lot of happy Jets when he scored his first goal of the season.

Winnipeg had a fantastic start to the middle frame as they outshot St. Louis 9-2 halfway and outscored them 1-0 through the period. Overall they outshot them 17-6.

As per NHL Public Relations the four assists by Alex Iafallo matched the franchise record for assists in a game.

Kyle Connor tied Mark Scheifele with the most game-winning goals for the Jets with 45 in his career.

The Jets will fly home to Winnipeg where they were scheduled to hit the ice on Wednesday for a practice but have subsequently cancelled it to give the players a day off following the successful trip.
