After 17 seasons including parts of three in Winnipeg longtime NHLer Paul Stastny has called it a career as per Pierre LeBrun of The Athletic/TSN.
The Jets acquired Stastny the first time back in 2018 in a trade with the Blues which really helped Winnipeg in their quest for the Stanley Cup. While they didn’t achieve that goal they did make it father than any Winnipeg based NHL team ever had making it all the way to the Western Conference Final before they lost to the Golden Knights.

He would end up signing with Vegas subsequently but then returned to Winnipeg for the 2020-21 season and played a complete year with the Jets in 2021-22. He played his 1000th NHL game in Winnipeg back on May 11th, 2021.
Interestingly he told LeBrun that”
“And then Winnipeg rejuvenated my career. That’s the best thing that ever happened to be was probably going to Winnipeg. I’m forever grateful for that.”
He spent last season in Carolina where he played 72 games for the Hurricanes.
In total he played 1145 NHL games scoring 293 goals while adding 529 assists for 822 points.
