After falling on Friday the Moose knew they’d need a good effort to ensure, as Tyrel Bauer said last week, “they don’t lose two straight in this building”.
Lineup news:
Nicholas Jones made his season debut and Jets prospect Danny Zhilkin returned to the lineup for the Moose.
Out came Kristian Reichel and Henri Nikkanen.
Collin Delia remained between the pipes.
Moose lineup:
Malott-Lambert-Ford
Viel – Zhilkin – Chibrikov
Suess – Lucius – AJF
Torgersson – Bongiovanni – Jones
Capobianco – Stewart
Oligny – Bauer
Sautner – Kniazev
Delia
Salminen
Notable:
Nicholas Jones opened the scoring in his season debut as he buried a shot from in front.
Jeff Malott collected his own rebound and buried this puck for his first of the season to give the Moose a lead in the opening period.
Moose alternate captain C.J. Suess helped this Chaz Lucius shot over the line which would prove to be the game-winning goal. It was his first goal with the Moose since the 2021-22 season.
Lots of firsts in this one as Axel Jonsson-Fjallby went for a bit of a skate before scoring this goal (his first of the season) to pad the Moose lead.
Just over a minute later Parker Ford finally gets rewarded this weekend with this nice goal after he had a heck of a game on Saturday sacrificing his body. This time no such pain was required.
Goalie Collin Delia picked up his first point of the season as he had the secondary assist on the Ford goal.
Moose figured why not three goals in three minutes as Kyle Capobianco scores his second of the weekend off a nifty backhand (and he wasn’t done there).
Jets prospect Tyrel Bauer looking like he scores every game with these hands as he pots his first of the season to further pad the Moose lead.
Kyle Capobianco with his second goal of the game (third of the weekend) as he puts the exclamation point on a 8-2 win for the Moose.
