Winnipeg Jets

Winnipeg Jets name Adam Lowry captain

Third captain has been named.

The Jets have themselves a new captain as the team announced this morning that Adam Lowry will be their third captain.

Lowry was drafted by the Jets back in 2011 and has been a solid leader on the club. He is well respected by his teammates and is very adept with the media.

Winnipeg was without a captain last season after stripping Blake Wheeler of the title. The team’s first captain after they moved from Atlanta was Andrew Ladd who coincidentally retired from hockey a few days ago.

The soon-to-be 10 year pro has played 621 games wearing a Jets jersey. Lowry has three years left under his current contract.

The team also announced that Josh Morrissey and Mark Scheifele will remain as alternates.
