Note: We are now in the quiet stretch of time which silence may be broken with news of a signing of the remaining RFAs (Vilardi, Barron, Stanley & Chisholm) as well as a potential free agent or two. We did learn courtesy of the NHLPA the arbitration dates scheduled for Gabe Vilardi and Morgan Barron.
Note II: Reminder to join us this morning for two hours of Jets talk on the Illegal Curve Hockey Show which gets underway at 9 AM sharp.
Jets news:
Winnipeg Free Press: El Nino’s best is yet to come. (Paywall). Mike had a chance to catch up with the talented Swiss forward.
The Hockey News: Three NHL prospect defensemen who could use a change of scenery. Samberg, who is two years older then Heinola, will just be getting his first shot at being an everyday NHLer this season. The Jets tend to slow play their defence prospects and with Heinola having one more year of waiver exemption it seems likely he may spend another season cooking in the minors. Of course he’ll have something to say about that and given his end of season media availability you got the sense that he is going to have a very impactful summer of training to force the Jets to keep him up in the NHL.
Jets video:

The Hockey Guy: Jets have been busy, likely to remain busy this off-season. Dubois and Wheeler are gone. Who’s next? Can they stay in the hunt in the West?
JetsTV: Jets prospects attempt to solve an escape room. From last week’s Development Camp, the prospects put their puzzle-solving skills to the test as they attempt to solve an escape room.
