Missed this the other day as the Colorado Avalanche announced the signing of a number of players when Free Agency opened including former Jets prospect goalie Arvid Holm (2017 6th), who had not been qualified by Winnipeg last week, which meant he went from being an RFA to a UFA on July 1st.
Holm spent the last two seasons manning the net with the Manitoba Moose of the AHL. In his first year he split time with Mikhail Berdin (who recently re-signed in the KHL for two more seasons) and then last year he was in a platoon with Oskari Salminen, a Finnish free agent that the Jets signed to a two-year deal last summer.
With Salminen having taken the net during the playoffs and having drafted Thomas Milic (reigning WHL Goalie of the Year/WHL Champion) last week in Nashville it made the Swedish netminder expendable. The team also signed goalie Collin Delia to a one-year deal when Free Agency opened on the 1st of July.
