Sometimes it isn’t just players who get the call up from the AHL to the NHL.
On Saturday ahead of the game against Chicago, Jets head coach Rick Bowness indicated that assistant coach Brad Lauer was dealing with a back issue (herniated disc) that has kept him off the ice and at home since the All-Star break. Said he is getting treatment but that “he is on IR from the coaching perspective”.
Yesterday during the win over the Kraken the Jets had assistant coach Marty Johnson on the bench and they had Moose assistant coach Eric Dubois in Marty’s role.
Manitoba had a morning skate today and Eric Dubois wasn’t on the ice but he was with the Jets at their practice according to Scott Billeck of the Winnipeg Sun before they head to Columbus to kick off a four game road trip.
Apparently on the TSN broadcast last night it was indicated that Dubois would be traveling with the team.
The Moose are in action tonight against the Wild as they kick off eight straight at home while the Jets take on the Blue Jackets tomorrow night in Ohio.
