A look at where Dustin Byfuglien ranks in the Winnipeg Jets/Atlanta Thrashers record books

A look at where 33 ranks in the combined Jets and Thrashers record books.

Much of the talk since Friday’s news that the Jets and Dustin Byfuglien had officially parted company has been about the uniqueness of the player.  He played forward, he played defence, he played like a forward when playing defence, he was on the power play and so much more.

Where does he rank in the Jets/Thrashers record books*?  He spent eight seasons in Winnipeg playing for the Jets and one season in Atlanta for the Thrashers.

Games Played – 5th (609)

Goals – 8th (122)

Assists – 3rd (294)

Points – Tied 5th (416)

Penalties – 2nd (826)

Game-Winning Goals – 5th (24)

Shots – 3rd (1973)

Had he played the 2019-20 season with Winnipeg he likely would have passed an injured Bryan Little in assists, would have left Vyacheslav Kozlov behind to assume sole possession of 5th in points, taken over 1st in penalty minutes from Chris Thorburn (he was just six minutes back) and maybe even a few others.

Instead Jets fans will just have to enjoy the memories they have of 33 doing all of the above while wearing a various NHL uniforms.
