Game 57: Jets 4 Rangers 3 post-game recap

Post-game from the Jets dressing room as well as from Coach Maurice.

The Jets improve to 36-18-3 after today’s 4-3 win over the Rangers and they have put together a modest two game winning streak as a result.

For those who would like to take a deeper dive into the advanced stats here are the results from tonight’s game via Natural Stat Trick.

Notable:

– Mark Scheifele scored his 29th and 30th goals of the season to open the scoring in a strong opening 20;
– It is the second time in Scheifele’s career he has hit the 30 goal mark;
– Rangers dominated the middle frame scoring twice to tie things up;
– New York scored early in the 3rd (all three goals they scored deflected in off the Jets D);
– Joe Morrow’s first goal of the season tied the game at 3;
– Andrew Copp finished off a nice Mason Appleton rush just under two minutes later to give Jets a 4-3 lead.

Coach Maurice:  Summing up the win.  On Mark Scheifele’s game.  How would he describe the way Andrew Copp has handled the adjustment to the 4th line?  His assessment of the power play.  What did he think of the play Wheeler makes on the second Jets goal?
