Winnipeg Jets to play two regular season games in Finland next season

Jets to play Panthers in Finland during the 2018-19 season.

Over in Tampa the news that has been reported unofficially for awhile finally broke about the Jets playing in Finland next season:

Pierre LeBrun of TSN said this:

“News from Board of Governors meeting today: confirmed teams for Europe next season, Edmonton-NJ play regular season game in Sweden at start of season; Wpg-Florida reg season game in November in Finland.”

He added that it will be two games between the Jets and Panthers.

Expectations was it would be the Carolina Hurricanes but looks like it will be the Florida Panthers instead.

Regardless of the opponent this means that Finnish players Patrik Laine and Joel Armia gets to play in front of their family and friends.
