Jets news:

Winnipeg Sun:  Can Jets young guns force way onto rosterWith 31 players left in camp Ken takes a look at all three positions and whether any of the young players can take a roster spot.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Jets captain Wheeler takes stand against Trump.  (Paywall).  I read Blake Wheeler’s tweet as taking a stand against the position of infringing on someone’s first amendment rights, not that the Jets captain was taking aim at Trump.  I could be wrong.  Sometimes it is difficult to interpret something written in 140 characters or less.  I suspect we will hear further from the captain on this issue.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Matt Hendricks could be key to building winning Jets season.  (Paywall).  It used to be Chris Thorburn who was the great divider between some segments of Jets fans and it appears (if my reading of social media is accurate) that Matt Hendricks may be the 2017-18 version of the former member of the GST line.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Top defensive prospect will make camp cuts a tough call.  (Paywall).  Despite his surgery Tucker Poolman has looked excellent since his arrival in Winnipeg which is making things hard for the brass when it comes time to decide who will be heading down to the Manitoba Moose.  Mike also wrote about JC Lipon’s effort, Michael Spacek’s development and the trio of Petan, Roslovic and Connor.
