The Jets are on the outside of the playoffs lookin in and with Monday’s Trade Deadline looming large the talk continues to be about the UFAs in Winnipeg and specifically Andrew Copp as the primary focus and Paul Stastny as well.
Tonight on the 32 Thoughts segment during Hockey Night in Canada Elliotte Friedman was speaking about the Jets and this is what he said about Copp:
“First of all in Winnipeg, tough loss last night to Boston, hearing that conversations around Andrew Copp are intensifying. The versatile forward would be very valuable. Boston, Rangers, and Colorado especially have been teams interested in him.”
The Jets sent Kristian Vesalainen down to the Moose so it is possible they hold Copp out of the lineup when they take on the Hawks on Sunday (with Vesalainen down they’d have enough cap space to recall two forwards).
The trade deadline comes and goes on Monday, March 21st at 2 PM CT. We haven’t yet determined if we will be doing an Illegal Curve Trade Deadline show but if we do be sure you hit the subscribe button on our YouTube channel.
