Interesting Notes:
Sweden has most selections they’ve ever had at 7. (previous high was 6 in 1993)
First time since 1993 that the Americans didn’t have a player drafted in the top 10.
First time ever that brothers were taken in back to back years in the top 5 picks. (Staal’s were drafted 2 years apart).
The 26th pick was probably the most traveled pick in the history of picks as it was traded from SJ-TB-OTT-NYI-CBJ-ANA.
This was the lowest selection the Hawks have ever had in the draft.  As well they signed David Bolland to a 5 year 18 million today.

Best Comment of the Night:
Brian Burke in response to a question in which he was asked what it felt like to get booed in Montreal.

I don’t give a rat’s ass about that stuff.  The best hockey fans on the planet are not in Montreal, they are in Toronto.  When we host this event in a couple of years and Montreal goes up to pick, this will seem like child’s play for the booing they get in Toronto.
