Note: The Jets practiced on Wednesday as they got ready for today’s huge contest against the Bruins who are ranked as the second best team in the Eastern Conference. Morning skate gets underway in Winnipeg at 10:30 AM and you can check the pre-game report for the latest news and audio. Puck drop is at 7 pm.
Note II: The improbable Moose run at Bell MTS Place continued last night as they defeated the Stars 4-3 to improve to 15-1-0-1 in their last 17 games in downtown Winnipeg which improved them to 30-26-3-2 on the season. They now sit just two points back of these same Stars (with two games in hand) for the fourth and final playoff spot.
Winnipeg Sun: Winnipeg needs to KISS against the Bruins. Paul gives you his big matchup as well as five things to watch.
Winnipeg Sun: Wheeler absent, but cleared to play. It shouldn’t come as much of a surprise that they gave their veteran winger some time off after all the physical play he endured on Tuesday night.
Winnipeg Sun: Urgency ramping up for the Jets. Getting to be a bit late in the season for the urgency to be ramping up.
Winnipeg Free Press: Ehlers shoulders blame for ‘dumb mistake’. (Paywall). One thing about the Jets forward with speed to burn….he doesn’t avoid taking responsibility.
Winnipeg Free Press: Practice does little for Hellebuyck’s mood after stunning loss. (Paywall). Jets netminder not so happy which maybe will help him get back on track.
Sportsnet: Jets, Hellebuyck still focusing on improvements. Luckily for the Jets they’ve built themselves a decent cushion.
I also appear on the Illegal Curve Hockey Show every Saturday on TSN 1290 Winnipeg starting at 9 am.
And I occasionally jump in the play-by-play booth at Bell MTS Place to provide colour analysis during Manitoba Moose games.
