Zach Bogosian thanks the city of Winnipeg for warm goodbye

Hockey is a business and oftentimes players will get traded without notice and without giving fans an opportunity to bid their favourite player goodbye.  In the world of social media however fans can take to twitter to give that ‘proper goodbye’ and that is just what many Winnipeg Jets fans did for Zach Bogosian (@BogosianZach) as he departed for Buffalo on Thursday following his trade early Wednesday morning.

Today while in conversation with Rick Ralph on the Rona Roundtable on TSN 1290 Winnipeg Bogosian was asked about hearing from fans who were upset to see him go.

“I was looking at my twitter a little bit and I’ve gotten some pretty funny messages/tweets at me but that is one thing too I want to say is thanks.  Thank you for everyone in Winnipeg for the farewell I got on twitter.  It’s been nothing but positive”.  (You can read a handful of the 100s if not 1000s of tweets he received below)

Earlier in the chat Rick asked Zach about Winnipeg and his memories of the city:

“I’ve got nothing but great things to say about the city. I had a good run there.  It was exciting coming back the first year back, that is something I was always remember, the way the MTS Centre was.  I wish everyone there well, wish the team well, I’m pulling for them.”

You can listen to the entire chat (runs 11 minutes and 24 seconds) that Rick had with Zach here.
