The Jets have/had three players dealing with health related issues who were skating on their own and are just starting to re-join the main camp group being Morgan Barron, Wyatt Bongiovanni and Brad Lambert. Lambert was listed as part of the playing group although he may not be 100% ready to go based on what coach said today before the team left for Montreal.
When head coach Rick Bowness was asked for a health update this is what he had to say about Barron, Bongiovanni and Lambert:
“Barron is skating really well. Getting closer. I don’t think he’s ready for contact but in a perfect world he’s playing both those last exhibition games against Calgary. Bongiovanni is just not out there yet. That would be the only two at this point. Lambert is coming with us tonight and there’s a very good chance he’ll play.”
Worth noting that when Bowness was asked, prior to giving the health updates, where he’d play Saku Maenalanen in tonight’s lineup he had this to say:
“There’s a guy we’re not sure if he’s gonna be able to play. One of those game-time decisions…..but there’s a guy that may or may not play and that will change where we play him.”
Now that could be Lambert or someone else. We shall have to wait and see if the 13th forward ends up playing tonight in Montreal. Puck drop is at 6 PM.
