Winnipeg Jets trade Young Stars Classic in the west to head east for the Prospect Showdown

The last few years in mid September Jets prospects have taken off with the Moose coaching staff to face off against the Canucks, Oilers and Flames prospects in British Columbia during the Young Stars Classic. We got wind it wasn’t happening this year so the question was whether there’d be a replacement.

Today we got the answer as the Jets will turn their plane from the west coast to La Belle Province over the weekend of September 13th and 14th with the Canadiens hosting a tournament at the Bell Centre. Prospects from Winnipeg will be showcasing their skills alongside those from Montreal, Toronto and Ottawa.

It will be a good chance for the kids to showcase their skills against other prospects before they get training camp underway.

It appears based on the release from the Habs that Winnipeg will play two games:

Saturday, September 13th at 7 PM vs the Canadiens
Sunday, September 14th at 7 PM vs the Senators.
