Winnipeg Jets trade with Seattle Kraken for Mason Appleton for 4th rounder in 2023

As they said on the Simpsons “that’s it back to Winnipeg” and that is what is happening for Mason Appleton who the Jets lost to the Kraken during the Expansion Draft. Tonight Jason Bell of the Winnipeg Free Press indicated that the Jets were close to re-acquiring Appleton who they drafted back in 2015 in the 6th round.

Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet confirmed it will be in exchange for a mid-round pick. Darren Dreger of TSN followed that up by reporting it will be a 2023 4th rounder.

The 2015 6th rounder had a good impact with Winnipeg during his tenure rising from a fourth liner with the Moose in his first year pro to a consistent member of the Jets third line.

Jets have now made it official.
