Mark your calendars as the Jets 2019’20 regular season schedule is slowly coming into focus. The NHL released the home openers today with the full season schedule to be released on Tuesday, June 25th.
The Jets will start next season on the road in New York as they take on the Rangers on Thursday, October 3rd and will follow that up with a game in New Jersey to face the Devils on Friday, October 4th. The Jets will be back in Winnipeg to kick off their home opener October 10th against the Minnesota Wild.
This means the Jets will see Jacob Trouba and Brendan Lemieux to start off the 2019 campaign. We won’t know until Tuesday when the former Jets will be back in the ‘Peg for the first time but clearly Trouba noticed the coincidence of the scheduling:
In addition to the former Jets folks will have a chance to see the rookie debuts of the top two projected picks in tonight’s 1st round as the Devils are expected to take phenom Jack Hughes while the Rangers are expected to take Finnish star Kaapo Kakko.
Schedule:
October 3rd @ Rangers
October 4th @ Devils
October 10th vs Wild.
It seems reasonable that the Jets would play one more time on the opening road trip to start the season against the Islanders before they return home to Winnipeg to start the season against Minnesota but we will have to wait until next week to find out.
