Winnipeg Jets take David Gustafsson off IR

Jets centre David Gustafsson has played 38 games this season but has been on IR since January 10th. Sixteen days after he last played head coach Rick Bowness indicated that Gustafsson was dealing with an “upper-body injury. He will need another few days off. He had an MRI yesterday. And he just needs probably another three or four days off.”. Almost seven weeks later he is finally ready to return.

He finally shed the non-contact uniform nine days ago in New York to participate in morning skate although he didn’t play in the game against the Islanders nor did he return for any of the three home games played in Winnipeg.

Today the team announced that he is off IR. If Pierre-Luc Dubois cannot play then head coach Rick Bowness indicated he would play tonight in Edmonton.
