Good news for Jets fans who will be inside the MTS Centre tomorrow.
From the Jets:
The Winnipeg Jets True North Foundation, the charitable arm of True North Sports & Entertainment Limited and the Winnipeg Jets Hockey Club, announced their “Sweeten the Pot” initiative taking place at the Jets game on Tuesday, Dec. 31/13 against the Buffalo Sabres. Game time is 6:00 p.m.
The Foundation is adding to the festive atmosphere during the New Year’s Eve match-up by starting the 50/50 pot at $40,000. The $40,000 was a prize not claimed from a 50/50 win during the 2012-13 season.
The highest pot the 50/50 has generated at a Winnipeg Jets game was during the home opener on Oct. 9/11 with a total amount of $141,285 raised. The Foundation hopes to reach the $200,000 mark at tomorrow night’s New Year’s Eve game.
Tickets for 50/50 are sold throughout the concourse at MTS Centre from the time doors open until he end of the second period intermission. Tickets are 1 for $5, 3 for $10 or 10 for $20. You must be 18 years or older to purchase 50/50 tickets. All proceeds from 50/50 directly benefit the Winnipeg Jets True North Foundation.
Throughout the first two Jets seasons, the Winnipeg Jets True North Foundation has donated over $2.4 million to various youth based charities and programs. The total also includes funding for both The Winnipeg Jets Hockey Academy and Project 11.
