Notable:
Similar to how in the last game Mark Scheifele drove the net to create some confusion on Kyle Connor’s goal against the Hawks, today we saw 81 creating havoc in front which gave Gabriel Vilardi some time and space. Just 15 seconds in and Vilardi’s got 5G in last five games.
Brad Lambert’s first ever NHL goal. That’s gotta be a big load off the shoulders of the Jets first rounder. Big smile of appreciation for his Jets/Moose linemate Parker Ford who got his first NHL assist.
With the goal, Vlad Namestnikov has six goals on the season. That’s a 41 goal pace. He had 11 in 78 last season. His career high is 22 back in 2017-18. He’s got quite the Cy Young going: 6G 1A.
And with that point on the third Jets goal, Jonathan Toews is now the all-time regular season points leader in the NHL from UND Hockey with 890. That stat courtesy of our good friend Brad Schlossman of the Grand Forks Herald. He passes Zach Parise. Another milestone in the Hall of Fame career for the Winnipegger.
Kyle Connor is just so smooth. He showed that on the penalty shot opportunity.
With an empty netter, Kyle Connor is just one point shy of 600 in his career with this goal.
With two points in the game Mark Scheifele now leads the NHL in points with 20 (9G 11A).
Another excellent start for Eric Comrie who improves to 3-0-0.
Multi Point Game:
Kyle Connor 2G
Gabriel Vilardi 1G 1A
Mark Scheifele 2A
