Notable:

It was the 200th game in a Winnipeg Jets jersey for Nino Niederreiter. Also Dylan DeMelo tied Chris Thorburn for games played in a Winnipeg uninform with 396 (15th all-time) and Vlad Namestnikov moved ahead of Zach Bogosian into a tie for 35th spot with 195 games where he joined PLD.

What a night for Denton Mateychuk as the Manitoban played his first ever NHL game in Winnipeg. Sounds like all of Dominion City (population 300) have made the 1 hour 15 minute drive north to the capital to watch him play.

Centre Mark Scheifele became the Jets/Thrashers All-Time games played leader with 898 passing Blake Wheeler. The only person he trails in this city for NHL games in a Jets jersey is former 1.0 captain Thomas Steen (950).

The captain Adam Lowry buried this perfect pass by Nino Niederreiter to give the Jets a 1-0 lead. That’s his first goal of the season.

Lots of milestones happened on the road for the Jets:

Kyle Connor – point 600
Alex Iafallo – game 600
Vlad Namestnikov – game 800

Jets fans gave them big cheers.

Bit of an oddity to start the 2nd period. It began with the refs on the phone (before puck had dropped) and then 45 seconds into the period they were back on the phone. We speculated that it could have been an internet issue (which we were experiencing in the pressbox).

Josh Morrissey doesn’t need internet to score a goal. He gave Winnipeg an early 2-1 lead in the middle frame.

Boom goes the Neal Pionk shot on the PP to make it a 3-1 game for Winnipeg. The skills coach strikes and gets his first of the season.

With a 3-1 lead after 40 minutes the Jets added to it when Kyle Connor scored this absolutely filthy one to tie Mark Scheifele for team lead with 11.

Shortly thereafter the Blue Jackets made it a two goal game before Logan Stanley unloaded this bomb to make it a 5-2 game.

The Jets improve t0 12-7-0 with the victory.

Multi Point Game:

Mark Scheifele 3A
Kyle Connor 1G 1A
Neal Pionk 1G 1A
Josh Morrissey 1G 1A
Nino Niederreiter 2A
