A win is a win although the Jets are gonna have to clean up their 5 on 5 play as they almost let this one slip away. Courtesy of Kyle Connor‘s OT game-winning goal they improve to 36-15-5 on the season to move back within one point of top spot in the Central.

Notable:
Courtesy of the opening goal of this game Mark Scheifele is now the career leader in even strength goals between the Jets 2.0 and Thrashers franchises with his 211th. He had been tied with Ilya Kovalchuk. Of course he still has a ways to go before he catches his mentor, Dale Hawerchuk, who has the most in Winnipeg history with 246.
Does anyone recall when the Jets couldn’t score a power play goal? They got two more in the 1st period as Kyle Connor and Gabriel Vilardi lit the lamp with the man advantage.
For the second straight game Winnipeg was unable to hold a lead allowing the game to get to extra time. Didn’t help that they played a pretty uninspiring 2nd and 3rd periods which saw Arizona tie it up.
And for the second straight game Kyle Connor ends it in overtime as he continues to add to his franchise leading GWG tally which currently stands at 49.
Multipoint Game:
Mark Scheifele 1G 3A
Josh Morrissey 3A
Kyle Connor 2G
Gabriel Vilardi 1G 1A
