Winnipeg Jets sign goalie Kaapo Kahkonen to a one-year deal

Little more goalie depth for the Jets after adding Eric Comrie on a two-year deal earlier today, Darren Dreger of TSN announced that Winnipeg has signed netminder Kaapo Kahkonen to a one-year deal worth 1 million.

Kahkonen played for two clubs during his 2023-24 season including the Sharks (31 games) and Devils (6 games). As you’d expect his numbers with San Jose weren’t good but he was solid for New Jersey in the six games he played with a .923 save% and a 2.51 GAA. And I was reminder by Kelly Moore of 680 CJOB that he put up 39 saves against the Jets back in February.

He’s 27 turning 28 in August.
