Winnipeg Jets sign Blake Wheeler to 6 year deal

The Winnipeg Jets and Blake Wheeler avoided arbitration when they agreed on a new deal today.

The terms of the deal were as follows:

Duration: 6 years
Cap Hit (AAV per season):  $5.6 million
Total:  $33.6 million.

Richard did his analysis back in May on what he anticipated both sides compromising on and he projected it as follows:

Duration: Four years
Cap Hit (AAV per season): $4.75 million
Total: $19.00 million
