Winnipeg Jets sign Axel Jonsson-Fjallby to a two-year contract

The Jets didn’t play Axel Jonsson-Fjallby enough this season to prevent him from becoming a Group VI free agent.

Despite this the Swedish speedster isn’t going anywhere as the Jets announced they have signed him to a two-year contract.

According to the Jets it has an average annual value in the NHL of $775,000. The deal is a two-way contract in 2023-24 and a one-way contract in 2024-25.

He was picked up off waivers by Winnipeg when Washington tried to assign him to their AHL affiliate in Hershey. He played 50 games with the Jets scoring six goals and adding eight assists. He also had three goals and one assist with the Jets AHL affiliate in four games.
